What is happening in Real Estate right now

The question I’m being asked the most right now is “How are housing prices going to be affected by COVID-19?”. Honestly, right now, no one knows. Time will tell. The hope is that the fact that this was precipitated by a global pandemic rather than an economic crisis means that this is a pause & that the appetite for real estate hasn’t disappeared, it has changed. How we are going to move forward will be different as we use technology to work together to navigate this new landscape.

In Ontario, realtors have been deemed an essential service. I have heard the term “mid-line essential workers” and I am much more comfortable with that. Our nurses and doctors, PSWs and nurse practitioners, all hospital staff and community health workers, cashiers and grocery store workers, delivery people, anyone that has to be in the public space to make it possible for the rest of us can stay safe at home, those are the front-line essential workers and we are so thankful for your contributions and we will do everything in our power to keep you safe by staying home and only going out when it is absolutely necessary.

For those of you who are in the middle of a transaction, having bought but not sold or are in a situation where you are forced to sell we are here for you. We understand that anyone listing their home now is doing so because they have to and that it is not a casual decision.

In this new normal we are leveraging technology in ways that I never thought I would. A 10-minute ZOOM meeting or FaceTime call is now part of our daily lives, just as a quick email or phone call always has been.

We are here for you if you need us.
