Vibrant Family Community
Experience the vibrancy of a truly diverse community! Part of the larger Richview area, Richmond Gardens lies between Islington Avenue and Kipling Avenue. It used to be dairy farming country, and today, is still characterized by many green spaces. There are many families living here, with a wide choice of schools and recreational activities.
The area offers townhouses and condominiums as well as houses - ranch and contemporary style bungalows, split-level, and Georgian Revival style built during the 1950s and 1960s. Larger properties features 40-60 foot plus frontages, with a private drive and garages.
The Westway winds through the neighbourhood, taking residents to various shopping centres: Westway Centre, Martin Grove Plaza and 1500 The Royal York. "1500" has many interesting shops as well as an indoor playground and bowling. Numerous bus routes connect to the subway line or Mississauga Transit. By car you are minutes from Toronto's airport and major highways.
Larger and small parks like Wincott are plentiful. At Silver Creek you'll find the Richmond Gardens outdoor swimming pool and a tennis club. There are also 3 ice rinks nearby and 2 beautiful golf courses, Weston Golf and Country Club and St George's. I particularly like Sun Row Park. It offers a lovely nature trail along the Humber River, and the paved South Humber Trail takes you all the way to Toronto's waterfront.
History buffs will be interested in 2 heritage homes, the Dixon and the La Rose homestead. Another little gem is St. Phillips Anglican Church across from the Weston Golf Club. The church is built around the original 1894 structure and has been here since pioneers first settled by the Humber.
