Spring is right around the corner. I don’t know about you but I want to be ready to enjoy every last minute of it. Here are some tips and tricks on how to make spring cleaning fast & easy!
Clear the clutter
Go through the house and pick up the clutter. Old magazines, old beauty products, books you’ve read, old slippers… Think about what you can store for the season, throw out, donate or repurpose.
If you’ve got old tea towels or bathroom towels that are looking grungy, maybe it’s time to turn them into cleaning cloths? Think about sizing some for the Swiffer too! It’s better for the environment and the pocketbook.
Clean the whole house not one room at a time
Rather than completing every task in one room, take on one task and do the whole house. Clean EVERY mirror in the house or tackle ALL of the baseboards. Feeling really energetic? Vacuum the ENTIRE house.
Get your cleaning supplies organized
Get those repurposed cloths and cleaning solutions in a caddy so you’re ready for the job ahead of you.
Dusting & vacuuming
Start at the top by turning off your ceiling fans (is it time to switch them over now that the weather’s getting better? Work your way down to the floors.
Mirrors and windows
Use one microfibre cloth to clean and then a separate one to dry.
Disinfect surface areas
Countertops, light switch plates, appliances, cabinets, doorknobs, remotes…
Don’t forget small appliances
The inside of the microwave and toaster oven need some love too.
The oven and the fridge are the biggest jobs and may warrant a day or weekend dedicated just to them.
It’s time to blast some tunes and get started.
