Spring/Summer 2023 Design Trends
Tuesday May 09th, 2023
As summer approaches it’s fun to think about updating your home with a fresh look. As far as paint colours go the experts are talking about classic neutrals to earth tones to vintage-inpsired hues. HGTV is loving Coventry Gray by Benjamin Moore, Pigeon by Farrow & Ball, & Aloof Gray by Sherwin-Williams to name but a few. Using these colours to refresh kitchen cupboards or window frames, update upholstery & accessories, and freshen up the walls is a great way to give your home a fresh look.
The relaxed coastal vibe is big in fashion this season as well as in home decor. Think about woven elements, light woods, baskets, natural fiber rugs, and easy-care slipcovers in fabrics like cotton and linen when updating area rugs, throws & pillows.
Adding stripes are another big trend this season. Adding some striped pillow covers, throw rugs or updating your bedding is an easy way to really update a room.
Bold colours are also a popular trend for spring/summer 2023. Adding hits on door or window frames, or accent furniture pieces can really revitalize a room. A white or neutral wall is a great way to really make the bright colours pop.
Ottomans are really big this season. They are a great way to update your coffee table. An ottoman adds comfort to your living space as well as versatility. Put your feet up or add a tray to give it the functionality of a coffee table.
When thinking about updating your home decor accessories think of natural elements. Bamboo, jute, and seagrass are making a comeback this season. Woven baskets and rattan furniture are also great options as are warm wood pieces of furniture and accessories.
Biophilic design continues to be a big trend in spring/summer 2023. Adding some plants to your living space. Using natural motifs in wallpaper and accenting with sea shells, sand and stones revitalizes your home for the warmer months. Using natural fibres in throw rugs, pillows and linens is another great way to update your space.
Spring/summer decor 2023 is all about making your home feel relaxed and inviting. It’s about calming colours with pops of eco-friendly fun, with the energy of a coastal vibe.
